: Health Information Coordinator As a Health Information Coordinator you will be responsible for assisting with processing medical records. Reporting to the Director of Health Information Management on problems and discrepancies in the medical record; assisting with the mail and phone messages and performing general clerical functions. Additional responsibilities of the Health Information Coordinator include: • Assisting with data entry as needed. • Assisting in routing infection control information from physician's orders to the infection control nurse. QUALIFICATIONS : Health Information Coordinator To qualify for the Health Information Coordinator, you must have effective communication skills and be able to work with individuals of all ages. Additional requirements of the Health Information Coordinator include: • Knowledge of standard health information management practices. • Completion of health information management courses is beneficial. • Familiarity with office machines. • Previous experience working in a health information management/medical records department. • Typing, data entry, filing, telephone, computer, and adding machine skills. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision under time constrained circumstances, must be detail oriented and organized. All applicants must enjoy working in a clinical environment and be able to communicate effectively with multiple departments. A working knowledge of medical terminology is highly beneficial. Previous exposure to medical records administration preferred. Must be computer literate. This position could occasionally include evening or weekend hours based on facility need.
